We all know what fruits are : super fruits are superior cousins of fruits. Some fruits – apples, oranges, tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries – have much in common with super fruits, but for some strange reasons the experts in the super food industry don’t categorize them in the super fruits category.

The super foods category is big business and is expected to become a US $ 10 billion industry by 2011. Super fruits form an important component of the super foods industry.

A super fruit is a fruit which has very high levels of health promoting nutrients like – antioxidants.

The term super fruit was first used by marketing experts in the F and B industry in 2005.

Scientists, quite rightly believe that in order to be called a super fruit, rigorous scientific evidence must be made available. Unfortunately, the term is used liberally to include a growing list of common and rare fruits, some having sparse scientific evidence for being super.

These are the fruits commonly termed as Super Fruits :
1) Acai Berry
2) Blue Berry
3) Cran Berry
4) Goji Berry
5) Grape
6) Guarana
7) Mango
8.) Mangosteen
9) Noni
10) Pomegranate
11) Sea – Buckthorn

Yoga is India’s latest cultural export to China. Young urban Chinese are queuing up to learn Yoga from Indian teachers. Rising economic prosperity has also brought with it a stressful lifestyle, and Yoga centres in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong and other cities are providing the Chinese people an avenue to relax.

About 25-30% students enrolled for Yoga courses at premier Indian Yoga institues like Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Delhi; SVYASA University of Yoga, Bangalore; Kaivalyadhama Yoga Center, Mumbai  and BKS Iyengar Yoga Center, Pune are being offered jobs at various Yoga and fitness centers in China. Salaries range between US $ 1000 and US $ 2000 per month.

The first Yoga teacher who popularised Yoga in China is Yogi Mohan. Mohan introduced Yin Yan, a Chinese national, to Yoga in Rishikesh. Yin convinced Yogi Mohan to shift to Beijing and together they set up the Yogi Yoga Center. So far Yogi Mohan has taught thousands of students from all over China. He has also published books and DVD on the subject in China. Last year, China Central Television launched a long series of  “Yoga with Yogi Mohan,” which brought him and Yoga, to the limelight.
